Host plants: Genista , Lathyrus , Vicia ( Fabaceae ).
General distribution: Europe, Caucasus, N Africa, Siberia, Central Asia ( Kazakhstan), East Asia ( China, Mongolia, Russian Far East) [ PAL]. Has been introduced in N America.
Note: This species lives solely on Genista and Cytisus (M. Wanat pers. comm.) These plants in Latvia are rare neophytes, then previous records of S. striatellus maybe based on misidentification. Occurrence of this species in Latvia needs confirmation.
