Type species: Atrytone anomala Keyserling, 1882  by monotypy.

Atrytone Keyserling, 1882  [junior homonym of Atrytone Scudder, 1872  ( Lepidoptera  )]. Tara Peckham & Peckham, 1886: 272  [nom. nov. for Atrytone Keyserling, 1882  ].

Remarks. This Australian genus is known from three described species found along the higher rainfall regions of eastern Australia from Cape York to Tasmania. There are likely to be other undescribed species ( Davies & Żabka 1989).
