Anagroidea Girault, 1915 [228]:164. Type species: Eustochus dubius Girault , by original designation.

Dahmsia Doutt, 1975: 254 . Type species: Dahmsia australiensis Doutt , by original designation. Synonymy by Noyes & Valentine (1989: 25).

Diagnosis. Anagroidea belongs to the Anagroidea group of genera. It is distinguished from Eubroncus , the only other genus in the group, as follows: funicle segment 1 much longer than any other ( Fig. 24 View FIGURES 21–29 ); head short, with face in lateral view rounded ( Fig. 23 View FIGURES 21–29 ); mandibles much shorter than height of head ( Fig. 23 View FIGURES 21–29 ), directed ventrally and not crossing each other ( Figs. 22, 26 View FIGURES 21–29 ); body often with long, erect setae ( Fig. 23 View FIGURES 21–29 ). Fore leg as in Fig. 25 View FIGURES 21–29 , with protibial spur comblike. Male flagellum 11-segmented ( Fig. 28 View FIGURES 21–29 ) and genitalia as in Figs. 27 and 29 View FIGURES 21–29 .

Body length. 589–947 µm.

Distribution. Worldwide, except Europe and Africa.

Hosts. Unknown.
