scientific name

Mimosa xanthocentra Martius
status

55. Mimosa xanthocentra Martius

Common, widespread and sometimes weedy with both the armed and unarmed subspecies known from Bolivia

subsp. xanthocentra var. xanthocentra

subsp. xanthocentra var. mansii (Mart.) Barneby

subsp. subsericea (Benth.) Barneby var. subsericea

* subsp. subsericea (Benth.) Barneby var. longepetiolata (Malme) Barneby This variety previously known only from Serra do Guimar„es in Brazil, but D. Villarroel et al. 2036 & 2041 (USZ) are both a good match for the description and perhaps to be expected as these are both from the most easterly outpost in Bolivia on Cerro Mutún.
