1.2.7. Curtonotum saheliense View in CoL species-group

Species included: 2 (Afrotropical / Palaearctic).

Synapomorphy: Distiphallus with long, obliquely angled, posteriorly-directed spine basally (44). Tsacas (1977) included the two sister species, C. saheliense Tsacas and C. simile Tsacas , both of which are confined to xeric habitats bordering the Sahara and the Arabian Peninsula, in his cuthbertsoni species-group. As attested by the above-mentioned synapomorphy, they are here regarded as being sufficiently distinct to warrant inclusion in a species-group of their own.
