Etymology. The specific epithet rosendaleorum is the genitive plural of the Latinised name Rosendale, representing a dedication to Uncle Eric Rosendale and his daughter Barbara Rosendale-Collie on whose property, Bonny Glen Station, the new species was first collected.

We propose Elegant Wiretail as a common name for the new species.
