Type species. Teleophrys cristulipes Stimpson, 1860 View in CoL [Type locality: Cape Saint Lucas ].
Remarks. American genus currently consisting of four recent species: Teleophrys cristulipes Stimpson, 1860 (EP), T. ornatus Rathbun, 1901 (WA), T. pococki Rathbun, 1924 (WA), T. ruber ( Stimpson, 1871a) [Mithraculus] (WA), and T. tumidus ( Cano, 1889) View in CoL [ Mithraculus View in CoL ] (EP). Teleophrys View in CoL also includes one fossil species from the early Miocene of Jamaica, T. acornis Portell and Collins, 2004 View in CoL .
