Genus Garthiope Guinot, 1990

Type species. Micropanope spinipes A. Milne-Edwards, 1880 View in CoL [Type locality: Abrolhos , Brazil] .

Remarks. Garthiope is amphi-American with G. barbadensis ( Rathbun, 1921) [ Pilumnus ] and G. spinipes (A. Milne-Edwards, 1880) [ Micropanope ] on the Atlantic coast, and G. anchialina Guinot & Iliffe, 1991 , and G. fraseri ( Garth, 1946) [ Micropanope ] on the eastern Pacific side ( Guinot 1990; Guinot & Iliffe 1991).
