117. Sciapus wiedemanni (Fallén, 1823) (Sciapodinae) View in CoL — new to Portugal

Number of specimens recorded. 2.

Distribution. Europe. Portugal: one province (Douro Litoral).

Ecology. The only Portuguese specimens were collected in agricultural land (with greenhouses) on sandy soil. In northwestern Europe, this species is recorded from a variety of habitat types, in particular from coastal biotopes and heathlands ( Pollet & Grootaert 1996).

Rarity (%). 1.1 (very rare). Very common (FL).
