Current status: Valid genus [teste Rozkošný & Elberg (1984: 176)].
Remarks: Rozkošný & Elberg (1984: 176) and Sabrosky (1999: 278) gave the typification of this genusgroup name as Sciomyza simplex Fallén, 1820 by subsequent designation of Westwood (1840: 145).
