Originally Included species: Mycetobia pallipes Meigen, 1818 View in CoL (as “ Myc. pallipes View in CoL . Meg.”; with Tanypus pallipes Megerle in synonymy); Mycetobia fasciata Meigen, 1818 .

Family: Anisopodidae .

Current status: Valid genus [teste Mamaev & Krivosheina (1988: 219)].

Remarks: Previous catalogs (e.g., Mamaev & Krivosheina, 1988: 219) have given the typification of this genus-group name as Mycetobia pallipes Meigen, 1818 , by subsequent designation of Westwood (1840: 127).
