Type locality: ‘Gulf of Papagayo, Bay of Montejo, west coast of America; ten to seventeen fathoms’. Label locality: ‘Gulf of Papagayo, the Bay of Montijo, West coast of America, 10 to17 fms’. Type material: Lectotype NHMUK 1968232/1 and 2 paralectotypes NHMUK 1968232/2-3 (H. Cuming collection). Indirect lectotype selection by inference of holotype (Cernohorsky, 1969: 217).
