Type material: ‘ Gulf of Nicoya; Puerto Portrero, west coast of America ; in twelve fathoms’. Label locality: ‘ Puerto Portrero , Central America, 12 fms’.

Type material: Lectotype NHMUK 1968246/1 and 2 paralectotypes NHMUK 1968246/2-3 (H. Cuming collection). Indirect lectotype selection by inference of holotype (Cernohorsky, 1969: 217).
