Type locality: ‘San Nicholas, island of Zebu, Philippines’.

Label locality: ‘Red Sea’.

Type material: Lectotype NHMUK 1968233/1 and 2 paralectotypes NHMUK 1968233/2-3 (H. Cuming collection). Indirect lectotype selection by inference of holotype (Cernohorsky, 1969: 214). Remarks: There is a discrepancy in the locality between the original description and the original label, however, considering that the distribution for this species is ‘ Japan to New Caledonia and Fiji’ (Terryn, 2007: 8) it is likely that ‘Red Sea’ is an error on the label.
