Hinds in Sowerby II, 1844: 183, sp. 96, pl. 45, figs. 109, 110.

Type locality: ‘ Australia; most probably from somewhere on its southern shores’. Label locality: ‘ S. Australia’.

Type material: Lectotype NHMUK 1968252/1 and 2 paralectotypes NHMUK 1968252/2-3 (H. Cuming collection). Indirect lectotype selection by inference of holotype (Cernohorsky, 1969: 214).
