Subtribe Taphurina Distant, 1905a

The Taphurini was reduced to two subtribes after Marshall et al. (2018) incorporated the genera previously assigned to the Tryellina Moulds, 2005 into the Lamotialnini Boulard, 1976 . The lack of male opercula in the single Malagasy species comprising the Anopercalnina ( Boulard 2008) quickly distinguished them from the species of the Taphurina . Currently all Neotropical genera of the Taphurina are monospecific with the exception of Taphura .
