= Anthicus oceanicus var. guamensis Blair, 1942 syn. nov. (see new synonym above)

Pic (1902: 40) as ‘ Anthicus oceanicus Laf. var. Françoisi ’, original description; Telnov (2014: 264, 302‒303, 316, 344, pl. 54 figs 5‒6) new junior synonym of S. oceanicus , redescription (made as for S. oceanicus but based on a specimen from Malekula Island, Vanuatu, of what in fact is S. francoisi ), records (Ontong Java, Santa Isabel), map. Type material. MNHN. Ecology. Inhabits coastal areas. Distribution. Widespread across the tropical and subtropical Pacific, not uncommon (see above). Likely widely distributed in coastal areas of the Solomon Archipelago but yet only recorded from Santa Isabel and Ontong Java ( Fig. 14 View FIGURE 14 ). Morphology. See discussion above.
