Diagnosis. Barsine flammealis is similar to B. pretiosa Moore, 1879 , but it can be distinguished from them by the pattern elements on forewing upperside being from bright brick red to scarlet (those patches being from bright orange to pale red in B. pretiosa , rarely scarlet as in fig. 19).
Distribution. China * (SE and W Yunnan), Nepal ( Kishida 1993 [as B. orientalis (Daniel, 1952], Volynkin & Černý 2017c), N and E India ( Draudt 1914, Strand 1922, Volynkin & Černý 2017c), C Vietnam ( Volynkin & Černý 2017c), N Thailand ( Černý & Pinratana 2009; Volynkin & Černý 2017c).
