Remarks. This species was described on the basis of a single male specimen collected from S Siberia, Minussinsk. The female was recently described by Bidzilya (2002a). The species is here transferred to Carpatolechia , based on characters in the genitalia: in the male a well-developed boat-shaped uncus, reduced gnathos, slender valva and moderately slender aedeagus without apical sclerotizations; in female the tergite VIII and sternite VIII with posteriorly rounded lobes and a cross-shaped signum with two transverse ridges. Externally C. filipjevi resembles C. fugitivella (Zeller, 1839) , C. fugacella (Zeller, 1839) and C. minor (Kasy, 1979) . The genitalia of both sexes are close to those of C. minor , but male of C. filipjevi can be separated by the more strongly curved valva and broader medial incision of tegumen, and female by a posteriorly wider ostium and less slender lateral lobes of signum. Olschwang et al. (2004) first reported this species from Europe based on this material.

Distribution. Only known from S Ural and S Siberia.
