Syntypes. Two females ( MNHN), Ecuador, Alausi .

Distribution. Argentina: Catamarca Province (no precise locality). Chile: Región de Valparaíso: Los Andes Province (Piscicultura); Región de La Araucanía: Cautín Province (Villarrica); Región de Los Lagos: Osorno Province (Salto del río Pilmaiquén). Colombia: Antioquía Department (Caldas). Ecuador: Azuay Province (Tarqui, Carchi, El Angel), Chimborazo Province (Alausi), Cotopaxi Province (Salcedo), Pichincha Province.

Remarks. The original description cites, “ ♂ ♀, Équateur: Alausi, alt. 2390m, 2 individus; RIVET, 1904.” L.V. Knutson (unpubl.) examined the specimens in 2008 (in last box in main collection). He found no males, and none of the specimens bears a “ type ” label or MNHN number label.
