Holotype. Male ( NHMUK), Argentina, Río Negro , Bariloche.
Distribution. Argentina: Neuquén Province (Lago Curruhue), Río Negro Province (Lago Correntoso, Lago Nahuel Huapi, Puerto Blest, Puerto Sabino, San Carlos de Bariloche). Chile: Región Metropolitana de Santiago: Cordillera Province (Los Maitenes); Región del Maule: Talca Province (Altos de Vilches); Región de la Araucanía: Cautín Province (National Park Conguillío); Región de Los Lagos: Osorno Province (Aguas Calientes, Lago Puyehue, National Park Puyehue), Llanquihue Province (Casa Pangue, Ensenada, Peulla, Puerto Montt), Chiloé Province (Ancud, Puntra); Región de Magallanes y la Antártica Chilena: Última Esperanza Province (Puerto Eden), Magallanes Province (Punta Arenas), Antártica Chilena (Puerto Williams);.

Remarks. L.V. Knutson examined the holotype in 1976 (unpubl.). He noted that at least three undescribed species are known from Chile and Argentina (69 specimens of three species in ZMUC, 35 specimens of more than one species in CNC, 28 specimens in USNM, and six specimens of four species in DEBU).
