Tetrabdella Hernandes & Feres n. gen.

Type species: Tetrabdella neotropica Hernandes & Feres n. sp.

This genus shares all characteristics of the subfamily Spinibdellinae, but can be distinguished from other genera by the following set of characteristics: presence of trichobothriae on tarsi III and IV; two ventral setae on hypostome; genital tracheae well developed; chelicera elongated with reduced scissorlike digits; palpal tibiotarsus with two long end setae; lateral propodosomal setae (ve) present; palpal tibiotarsus expanded distally (truncated). Until more species are described, this genus remains monotypic.
