( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4. S )
Rungsia taurica Mamontova, 1959: 71 View in CoL –73.
Material examined. UKRAINE, Birjuchij Island, Elymus sabulosus , 17.vi.1961, 1 al. viv. fem., leg. Mamontova.
Description: Alate viviparous female. Colour of live specimens: unknown; pigmentation when mounted: pale with marginal sclerites dusky. Body pear-shaped, about 1.95 mm long and 0.72 mm wide. Abdominal tergites I–III with oval marginal sclerites, and weakly visible pleural and spinal ones; tergites IV–VII with large marginal sclerites and partially fused pleural and spinal sclerites (with siphunculi laying separatly between marginal and spino-pleural sclerites on abdominal segment V); tergite VIII with fused marginal, pleural and spinal sclerites ( Fig. View FIGURE 4. S
4a). Dorsal chaetotaxy: hairs pointed, not arranged in visible rows, about 0.075–0.10 mm long; abdominal tergite VII with longer hairs 0.14–0.15 mm long. Head chaetotaxy: numerous pointed hairs 0.075–0.09 mm long all over head ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4. S b). Antennae ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4. S c) reaching to posterior margin of metathorax, 0.48 times body length. Vb:Va 1.75; other antennal ratios: Vb:III 0.47, V:III 0.74, V:IV 2.20. Antennal chaetotaxy: segm. I with 2 hairs, segm. II with 2 hairs, segm. III with 5 hairs, segm. IV with 2 hairs, Va with 1 hair. Antennal hairs about 0.035 mm long; the longest antennal hair III about 1.75 times basal articular diameter of this segment. Segment III with 6 oval rhinaria lying in row, segment IV with 0 rhinaria. Rostrum short, reaching to middle coxae, ARS short and blunt, 0.07 mm long, 0.18 times antennal segment III and 0.40 times HT II. First tarsal chaetotaxy 5:5:5, empodial hairs pointed. Fore wings typical, with normal venation, media with 3 branches, pterostigma weak pigmented. Siphunculi very short, slightly elevated 0.035 mm in basal diameter. Cauda broadly rounded ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4. S d) 0.10 mm wide, with about 9 pointed hairs 0.075–0.10 mm long.
Measurements of 1 specimen (in mm): ( Ukraine, Birjuchij Island, Elymus sabulosus , 17.vi.1961, leg. Mamontova) body: 1.77, ant.: 0.84, ant. segm. (III–V): 0.29:0.11:(0.10+0.30), ARS: 0.07, HT II: 0.15.
Distribution. A very local species, known only from few localities in Ukraine and Kazakhstan ( Wieczorek 2010).
