Family Tetrigidae Rambur, 1838 View in CoL

Type genus. Tetrix Latreille, 1802 View in CoL (type species Gryllus subulatus Linnaeus, 1758 ).

Distribution and composition. The whole world, except for New Zealand and Antarctica ( Tumbrinck 2014). Altogether 2020 species, assigned to 275 genera, 18 tribes and 8 subfamilies ( Cigliano et al. 2020).
