Remarks
Andrena aegyptiaca is a complex of species that is currently undergoing revision (e.g., Pisanty et al. 2023). If the eastern populations are separated, A. comberima will be the priority name. For now, a broad A. aegyptiaca concept is maintained. As the type material of A. comberima beharica was located in the NHMUK collection, a male is here designated as the lectotype ( Fig. 16 View Fig ).
Distribution ( A. aegyptiaca sensu lato)
Spain (Canary Islands), Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia *, Egypt, Israel, Jordan *, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates *, Oman *, Pakistan, India (Gujarat, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar) ( Gusenleitner & Schwarz 2002; Ascher & Pickering 2023).
