6. Megabostrichus imatadei Chûjô, 1964 , Phonapate fimbriata Lesne, 1909 and Phonapate stridula Lesne, 1909

In 1964 in his paper a Japanese entomologist M. Chûjô described a new genus and a species of the bostrichid from Thailand. Due to the beetle’s size the genus was named Megabostrichus Chûjô. The species was described on a single female (and not a male, as was suggested by original description). After examining the holotype, preserved in the collection of Kyushu University (KUFJ), the species turned out to belong to the genus Phonapate Lesne. Photographs of the holotype and relevant labels were published in the paper which provided synonymy between M. imatadei and Phonapate fimbriata ( Borowski & Węgrzynowicz 2009) . Unfortunately, there was a mistake in the paper and Phonapate was listed as a senior synonym. Hereby I correct this wrong information and below present full synonymy along with geographical distribution of the Oriental representatives of the genus Phonapate .
