Male. Postpedicel just over 2.5x longer than wide. Wing; veins dark brown; membrane strongly iridescent. Legs; basal tarsomeres of all legs yellow contrasting with the dark brown of the four apical segments. Male terminalia: Surstylus mitten-shaped in outline, with two teeth at apex, a larger one anteriorly and a smaller one posteriorly; three rather strong setulae projecting medially from between the teeth; hairs along anterior margin less numerous and weaker. Base of cerci with a pair of wart-like tubercles. Apices of pregonites in ventral aspect appearing similar to two tiny birds’ heads facing inward. Phallus, somewhat swollen on basal half and gradually tapered to slender apical portion.

Type material: Holotype and paratype, VANUATU: Efate, Vila, August 1950, N. L. H. Krauss. HT ♂ 67505 USNM. I have not examined these specimens as a detailed description and drawings of the genitalia are provided by McAlpine (1964b & 1975). No further examples of this species have been seen during this study.
