REMARKS: According to the revision of the Autolytinae by Nygren (2004), the species formerly placed in the genus Autolytus Grube, 1850 , were moved to the genus Myrianida Milne-Edwards, 1845 .

REMARKS: Nygren (2004) reports the distribution of this species to be North East Atlantic and emphasizes that the name M. prolifera (as Autolytus prolifer ) has been used for different, inadequately determined species. Preserved specimens may be confused mostly with M. edwarsi ( Nygren 2004) .
