REMARKS: Ravara et al. (2010) revised the European specimens previously identified as Inermonephtys inermis Ehlers, 1887 and compared them with the holotype of I. inermis from Florida (MCZ 1088). Since differences were observed they erected a new species for the European specimens, I. foretmontardoi , and assumed that all the previous European records of I. inermis should be assigned to the new species. Consequently, all the previous records of I. inermis from the Adriatic Sea are herein considered to belong to I. foretmontardoi .
