Range:— Bolivia ( CH, SC, TA) and northwestern Argentina.
Ecology:— Fairly common in humid Boliviano-Tucuman forests at 1200–2800 m.
Notes:— This is a southern vicariant of Lomariocycas schomburgkii . In addition to the leaf characters given in the key, L. yungensis also differs from L. schomburgkii by having broader ridges on the perispore ( Ramos 2010).
