Type host: Gallinago gallinago (Linnaeus) ( Charadriiformes : Scolopacidae ) from France. FEMALE (1 paratype). Total body length 595. Gnathosoma . Anterior part of infracapitulum densely punctate. Each medial branch of peritremes with 4 chambers, each lateral branch with 14–15 chambers. Stylophore apunctate 205 long. Movable cheliceral digit 155 long. Idiosoma . Propodonotal shield concave on anterior margin, apunctate. Length ratio of setae vi:ve 1:1.8. Setae vi, ve and si with delicate ornament, other idiosomal setae smooth. Setae c1 and se situated at same transverse level. Hysteronotal shield fused to pygidial shield, apunctate, bearing bases of setae d1, f1, f2, h1 and h2, entending anteriorly to level of setae d2. Setae d1 situated twice as far from e2 than from d2. Aggenital setae ag1 and ag3 subequal in length, both about twice as long as ag2. Genital setae g1 and g2 subequal in length, both 1.5 times longer than pseudanal setae. Genital plate restricted to genital setae. Setae 3c 3.4 times longer than 3b. Coxal fields apunctate. Legs. Fan-like setae p’ and p” of legs III and IV with 8–9 tines. Setae tc” of legs III and IV 1.6 times longer than tc’III–IV. Lengths of setae: vi 30, ve 55, se 165, c1 155, d1 105, d2 130, e2 120, f1 45, h1 40, h2 345, ag1 145, ag2 70, ag3 155, ps1 and ps2 20, g1 and g2 30, l’RIII 50, l’RIV 35, tc’III–IV 45, tc”III–IV 70, 3b 35, 3c 120.

MALE. Unknown.

Type material examined. Gallinago gallinago (Linnaeus) ( Charadriiformes : Scolopacidae ): 3 female and 1 nymph paratypes ( AVB 05-0175-008); FRANCE, St. Malo , December 1974, coll. J. C. Beaucournu.

Type material deposition. Holotype and paratypes deposited in the ZISP .

Non-type material examined. Type host species: 1 female ( AMU –SYR.103) ; POLAND, Lubuskie, Slonsk , 24 July 1987, coll. J. Dabert. Specimen deposited in the AMU .

Host range. Monoxenous species parasitizing quills of Gallinago gallinago .

Distribution. France and Poland.

Type host: Rallus aquaticus Linnaeus ( Gruiformes : Rallidae ). Type locality: Kazakhstan.

FEMALE (holotype and 6 paratypes). Total body length 665–670. Gnathosoma . Infracapitulum apunctate. Each medial branch of peritremes with 3 chambers, each lateral branch with 7 chambers. Movable cheliceral digit 175 long. Stylophore covered by striated cuticle, apunctate, 215 long. Idiosoma . Propodonotal shield large and entire, weakly sclerotized, striae visible, sparsely punctate, bearing bases of setae vi, ve, si, se and c1. Setae c2 situated close to this shield. Setae se set slightly posterior to level of setae c1. Length ratio of setae vi: ve: si 1:1.8–2:2.5–3.2. Hysteronotal shield wide in posterior part, apunctate, extending anteriorly to level of setae d2. Hysteronotal setae d2, d1 and e2 subequal in length. Setae d1 situated 1.1–1.3 times closer to d2 than to e2. Setae h1 and f1 subequal in length. Setae h2 1.5–1.7 times longer than f2. Length ratio of aggenital setae ag1: ag2: ag3 1.5–1.7:1:1.8–2.4. Genital plate absent. Genital setae g1 and g2 subequal in length, both slightly longer (1.2–1.5 times) than pseudanal setae ps1 and ps2. Coxal fields I–IV apunctate. Setae 3c 2.2–2.3 times longer than 3b. Legs. Setae tc”III–IV about twice as long as tc’III–IV. Fan-like setae p’ and p” of legs III and IV with 6–8 tines. Lengths of setae: vi 20–35, ve 45–55, si 75–85, se 155, c1 190, c2 230–265, d1 130–150, d2 130–155, e2 135–155, f1 35, f2 230–280, h1 30–35, h2 385–415, ps1 and ps2 20–25, g1 and g2 30, ag1 90–95, ag2 55–60, ag3 105–130, tc’III–IV 30–35, tc”III–IV 60–65, 3b 30, 3c 65–70.

MALE (3 paratypes). Total body length 545–555. Gnathosoma . Infracapitulum apunctate. Each medial branch of peritremes with 3 chambers, each lateral branch with 7–8 chambers. Movable cheliceral digit 155–165 long. Stylophore apunctate, 170–180 long. Idiosoma . Propodonotal shield weakly sclerotized, punctate and restricted to bases of setae vi, ve and si, or propodonotal shield absent. Hysteronotal shield weakly sclerotized, apunctate, bearing bases of setae d1, e2, f2, and h2. Setae d2 variable in length but always longer than setae d1 and e2. Setae d1 situated 1.2–1.3 times closer to d2 than to e2. Setae h2 10–13 times longer than f2. Genital setae g1 and g2 situated at same transverse level. Setae ag1 longer than ag2 and ag3. Setae ag2 and ag3 situated on dorsal side. Coxal fields of legs I–IV apunctate. Setae 3c 2.6 times longer than 3b. Legs. Fan-like setae p’ and p” of legs III and IV with 7 tines. Lengths of setae: vi 30, ve 35–40, si 60–75, se 140–155, c1 135–155, c2 165–170, d1 15–20, d2 variable 70– 125, e2 15 –20, f2 15–20, h2 190–210, ag1 65–80, ag2 43–40, ag3 35–45, tc’III–IV 25, tc”III–IV 45–55, l’RIII 35– 45, l’RIV 20–25, 3b 25, 3c 65.

Type material examined. Rallus aquaticus Linnaeus ( Gruiformes : Rallidae ): female holotype, 6 female, 3 male paratypes ( AVB 07–2610–122); KAZAKHSTAN, Ongtustic Qazaqstan, S.
