Type host: Anas querquedula Linnaeus ( Anseriformes : Anatidae ). Type locality: Russia.

FEMALE (6 paratypes). Total length 645–715. Gnathosoma . Infracapitulum densely punctate. Each medial branch of peritremes with 6–7 chambers, each lateral branch with 11–12 chambers. Movable cheliceral digit with 3 teeth, 200–210 long. Stylophore apunctate, 230–250 long. Idiosoma . Propodonotal shield well sclerotized, apunctate, rectangular in shape, bearing bases of setae vi, ve, si, se and c1. Propodonotal setae beaded. Length ratio of setae vi:ve:si 1:1.2:1.5–1.8. Setae c1 situated anterior to level of setae se. Hysteronotal shield weakly sclerotized, punctate, bearing bases of setae d1, e2 and terminal setae f1, f2, h1 and h2. Setae d1 situated slightly (1.2–1.3 times) closer to d2 than to e2. Setae f2 1.4 times longer than f1 and h1. Both genital setae subequal in length and about twice as long as pseudanal setae. Length ratio of setae ag1: ag2: ag3 2–3:1:4–4.4. All coxal fields densely punctate. Setae 3c twice as long as 3b. Legs. Setae tc”III–IV 1.7–1.8 times longer than tc’III–IV. Fan-like setae p’ and p” of legs III and IV with 8 tines. Lengths of setae: vi 50–55, ve 65, si 80–90, se 145–155, c2 135–155, c1 155–170, d1 90, d2 80–90, e2 115, f1 45–50, f2 65–70, h1 45–50, h2 380–465, ps1 and ps2 30, ag1 120–150, ag2 55–65, ag3 240–270, g1 50–60, g2 55–65, l’RIII 35, l’RIV 35–40, tc’III–IV 45–50, tc”III–IV 75–90, 3b 40–50, 3c 90–105.

Type material examined. Anas querquedula Linnaeus ( Anseriformes : Anatidae ): 6 female paratypes ( AVB 05–0714–032); RUSSIA, Kaliningrad Prov., Kurish spit, Rybachiy village (55°09'15"N, 20°51'14"E), 9 June 1957, coll. V. Jugis.

Type material deposition. All type material deposited in the ZISP .

Host range and habitat. Monoxenous species parasitizing quills of Anas querquedula .

Distribution. Russia.
