Type locality: De Geer (1773) did not know the species origin, stated as Mali, Mourdiah in Eades and Otte (2009).

Distribution: Species largely distributed from Portugal to North Africa and central Asia, and in the Ethiopian, Madagascan and Indo-Malaysian regions ( Gorochov and Llorente 2001).
