Distimake repens (D.F. Austin & Staples) Petrongari & Sim. View in CoL -Bianch. comb. nov.
≡ Merremia repens D.F. Austin & Staples (1983: 484) View in CoL . Type:— BRAZIL. Minas Gerais: Serra do Cipó , km 135, 1300m, 19 February 1968, H. S. Irwin et al. 20526 (Holotype: NY00336576 !; Isotype UB!) .
Notes: —The single paratype cited by Austin & Staples (1983), Irwin et al. 29376 [FTG (FAU!), MG!, NY!, UB!], is in fact a specimen of Distimake contorquens View in CoL , a closely related species characterized by white flowers and stellate indumentum, whereas D. repens View in CoL has pink flowers and simple trichomes. We are confident that Distimake repens View in CoL is a truly distinct species from D. contorquens View in CoL , once the paratype is excluded.
