Holotype male seen ( Figs 9–12 View FIGURES 1 – 20 ); in good condition.
Diagnosis. Medium sized species (4.7–5.8mm); general colour brown with grey pollinosity; scutum with five faint brown vittae; palpus brown; arista plumose ( Fig. 70 View FIGURES 65 – 76 of Emden, 1940: 182; Fig. 11 View FIGURES 1 – 20 ); legs yellow, including coxae; scutellum with both pairs of setae present and long and with setulae on disc; anterior katepisternal very short; lower calypter about 2.5 times as long as the upper one; haltere yellow; fore tibia with a long median posteroventral seta; hind tibia only with a long and strong median anterodorsal seta; sternite 5 as in Fig. 56 View FIGURES 53 – 64 .
