Coenosia aseta ( Emden, 1940: 194) View in CoL

Holotype male seen; right wing broken, chaetotaxy and abdomen very damaged.

Diagnosis. Scutum brown with grey pollinosity; abdomen brown with dark yellow areas; palpus yellow; legs entirely yellow including coxae; arista short-haired; scutellum with only the apical setae; anterior katepisternal weak; lower calypter, about twice as long as the upper one; haltere yellow; vein M thickened and darkened near base; fore tibia without a median seta; hind tibia with one short anterior and one anterodorsal seta.

Notes. This species is known only from the holotype male. It is keyed as an isolated species in the group key, and can be easily identified by the very weak anterior katepisternal seta and by the thickness of vein M at base.
