Distribution and habitat: — Brazil (Minas Gerais, in disjunct distribution between the Diamantina Plateau and Serra do Cipó). Campo rupestre; 1000–1500 m.
Taxonomic Notes: —Diagnostic features of this species are the short oblanceolate leaves and cypselae with indumentum over whole surface. Similar to Minasia lewinsohnii and M. splettiae in general size of habit, but the latter has linear to filiform leaves.
