Distribution: It occurs from southern Mexico to northern Argentina and Uruguay ( Delgado-Salinas et al. 2011) and in states of all regions of Brazil ( Flora do Brasil 2020). In ParNa Iguaçu it occurs in the Foz do Iguaçu Area and in Matelândia in the Capanema area.

Reproductive period: According to Snak et al. (2011) it flowers from January to May and fruits in May. In ParNa Iguaçu it was found in flower in March to May and in fruit in March and July.

Diagnostic characteristics: Liana with pinnate, trifoliolate leaves, flowers asymmetrical, petals of the helical keel, corolla cream-colored with a purple spot on the wings, seeds with epihilum.

Conservation: Native-NE.
