Paramaurops mavrovi Karaman, 1958: 222 . Type data: Das einzige female Exemplar in Mavrovo (1200 m ü. M.) in Westmazedonien (North Macedonia, Mavrovo).

Protamaurops mavrovi Karaman: Nonveiller et al., 2000: 23; Nonveiller & Pavićević, 2008: 258, Fig. 5b (diagnosis).

Other records: Mt Galicica , 1500 m, VI-1984, 1 ♂, leg. G. Nonveiller ( Nonveiller et al., 2000) .

Note: In the diagnosis given by Nonveiller & Pavićević, 2008, they are some discrepancies with the original decription ( Karaman, 1958) concerning to the foveation of the base of elytra. Karaman (1958) stated that two basal elytral foveae were present, while there is only single basal fovea on each elytron mentioned by Nonveiller & Pavićević (2008), this is a unique case for the genus. Unfortunately, the type is probably lost, and we cannot give more precise description of the species. Apparently the team of Prof. Guido Nonveiller was the last who examined the holotype of this species ( Nonveiller et al., 2000) which should be deposited in the collection of Zora Karaman in University «Ss. Cyril and Methodius», Skoplje. The collection was examined by the first author but holotype was not found.

Distribution: North Macedonia.
