Material examined. 1 male, Ilha de Santa Bárbara (17°57’28”S 38°42’19”W), coll. R.M.C. Barbosa & L.M. Fernandes, 31.viii. 2013, 11 m, on algae, UESC 1546.

Distribution. Western Atlantic—Bermuda, Terra Nova, eastern coast of the USA, Gulf of Mexico, Central America, West Indies and Brazil (Fernando de Noronha, Maranhão to Bahia). Eastern Atlantic—Mediterranean Sea. West Indo-Pacific ( Williams 1984; Ramos-Porto 1986; Udekem d’Acoz 1999; Li et al. 2004).
