Genus Ceratopompa Karsch, 1890

Type species: Ceratopompa festiva Karsch, 1890

Diagnosis.

Medium-sized for Phaneropterinae . Head and pronotum with densely arranged punctuation. Head elongate, ovoid, prognathous. Compound eyes very large, half as long as head. Antennal thick, strong, almost as long as body, densely hairy. Disc of pronotum smooth, with indistinct transverse sulcus. Lateral lobe of pronotum longer than high, with straight anterior and slant posterior margins; humeral notch moderately distinct ( Fig. 2A ).

Legs short, flat. All femora and anterior tibiae without ventral spines. Tympanal organ on anterior tibiae open on both sides. Mid tibiae with 3 ventro-posterior spines. Hind tibiae with small dorsal spines on both margins. Tegmen long, narrow, leathery, with obtuse angle apex. Hind wing wide, not extending beyond tegmen, with irregularly arranged patches.

Female cerci conical, densely hairy. Ovipositor strong, falcate, thoroughly with distinct teeth on dorsal margin, and with teeth on ventral margin at apex ( Fig. 9A ).

Male similar to female, but body size smaller. Cerci long, incurved, with blunt tip.

The genus includes one sole speices Ceratopompa festiva Karsch, 1890 , distributed in tropical forests of Southeastern Asia.
