Lamprotatus berani Delucchi (Pteromalidae) View in CoL

Lamprotatus berani Delucchi, 1953a: 202 View in CoL . Holotype m, Germany: Bayern, Partenkirchen, Partnach (VD [examined]).

Material. HOLOTYPE m (mp) labelled`482; LAMPROTATUS berani n. sp. V.

Delucchi det.; ex Phytomyza nervi Groschke V. Delucchi leg.; Partnach bei

Partenkirchen (D).; leg. Groschke 20.XI.51; TYPE [red]’. PARATYPES, VD: 8 mm, 6 ll(mp), labelled as follows: 1 l`486; Lamprotatus

berani n. sp. V. Delucchi det.’, and 8 mm, 5 llprovided with Groschke’s serial numbers`279’,`484’,`487’,`489’±`498’. All specimens considered as part of the type series. NMW: 2 mm, 1 l(mp, cp) with data as speci®ed by Delucchi and labelled` Type [red]’, considered as part of the type series .

Remarks. Delucchi described both sexes and stated`Type in meiner Sammlung.’ but did not specify the number of specimens he had. Two females (cp, mp) in VD provided with Delucchi’s identi®cation label are not considered as part of the type series, since they disagree with the data speci®ed by him. In the NMW there are another two females (mp, cp) labelled`Type [red]’. Though these were identi®ed by Delucchi as berani they are doubtfully part of the type series, since their data (one from the FoÈrster collection, the other from`Umg. Wien Sept 1919 ’, leg. Fahringer) were not mentioned in the original publication. The label`Type [red]’ on the latter specimens and the above paratypes in the NMW is not the one normally used by Delucchi and has probably been added subsequently. Labels of this sort were also found in the Novitzky collection at the BMNH and it is therefore likely that he is responsible for those on Delucchi’s specimens.

The species was apparently misinterpreted by Graham (1969: 186, 198) who had not examined the type series. Its status needs reconsideration.

Status. Seladerma berani Delucchi ( Graham, 1969: 198) .
