Plants 100-300 mm. Leaves 2, opposite, ovate, 25-65 × 20-40 mm. Flowers 1-4, white or pink; median sepal with slender deflexed spur 9-15 mm long, lateral sepals oblong, 6-8 × 4-5 mm, basally fused; petals auriculate; lip blade minute, appendage of two obtuse lobes.
DISTRIBUTION AND PHENOLOGY. — Zambia, Malawi, Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania; in leaf litter in deep shade in evergreen forests and bamb o o f o re s t s f ro m a b o u t 1 8 0 0 t o 2 5 5 0 m. Flowering mainly from February to April in south-central Africa, and up to September in East Africa .
