Plants 25-40 mm. Leaf 1, basal, ovate, 6-8 × 6- 10 mm, papillose. Flower solitary, deep yellow; median sepal linear-lanceolate, 8 × 1.8 mm, hood shallow, lateral sepals semi-orbicular, 6 × 3.5 mm, free; petals oblong, 8 × 2.8 mm; lip papillose, triangular, blade awl-shaped, appendage of two deflexed lobes ( Fig. 7 View FIG ).
DISTRIBUTION AND PHENOLOGY. — Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia and Zaire / DRC; in grassland, woodland and bog from 1650 to 2400 m. Flowering mainly in November and December but also in May.
