Type locality: south-western Pacific Ocean , North Fiji Basin, active chimney ‘ Mussel Valley’; 16°59.50′S, 173°55.47′W; 2000 m GoogleMaps .
Known range: Known only from the type locality.
Material: Type locality; STARMER II, sta. 4; dive PL 04 , 15 June 1989; MNHN Ga 2351 (holotype male) ( Baba & de Saint Laurent, 1992) .
