Synonymy. The female of Masteria lucifuga and immature of M. tovarensis , both from Colonia Tovar, and the immature of M. cyclops from Caracas were described by Simon (1889) with no diagnostic characters, such as pattern of eyes, leg formula and color pattern. The holotypes of the species described by Simon were examined and were all morphologically the same as Masteria lucifuga , especially in external body characters and distribution. The name M. lucifuga was maintained for page priority and is considered a senior synonym of both M. tovarensis and M. cyclops .
