Diagnosis.— Neischnocolus can be distinguished from other Theraphosinae genera by the presence of Type Id urticating setae and the following combination of characters: males having two or one retrolateral processes on the palpal tibia, median to distal part of embolus bent (almost perpendicular or perpendicular to palpal organ axis) and apically slightly twisted, PI and PS keels more convergent to each other or less convergent; females having ventral translucent paired receptacles emerging from a semicircular or heart-shaped back-plate, sclerotized with a corrugate texture ( Pérez-Miles et al., 2008; Kaderka, 2014, 2020; Lapinski et al., 2018; Almeida et al., 2019; Pérez-Miles et al., 2019).
Distribution.— Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Panama, Peru, Venezuela (WSC, 2023).
