Basionym : Thrixspermum leopardinum C.S.P.Parish & Rchb. View in CoL f., Trans. Linn. Soc. London 30: 145, 1874. Type :— MYANMAR. Mon State : Mawlamyine District, Parish 269 (holotype: W-R 11151 & 26229; isotype: K) .

Homotypic synonym: Sarcochilus leopardinus View in CoL (C.S.P.Parish & Rchb.f.) Hook.f., Fl. Brit. India 6: 38, 1890.

Specimens examined:— MANDALAY. Mandalay District: Swinhoe 41 ( K) . MON. Mawlamyine District: type. Also reported from Tanintharyi Region by Kress et al. (2003: 87), but we have not seen material from this area .

Distribution:— India, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, southwestern China and western Malesia.
