Basionym: Cymbidium alatum Roxb., Fl. Ind. View in CoL ed. 1832, 3: 459, 1832.

Heterotypic synonym: Thecostele zollingeri Rchb. View in CoL f., Bonplandia View in CoL 5: 37, 1857.

Specimens examined:— MON. Mawlamyine District: Parish 47 ( K, K-LINDL). Also reported from Tanintharyi Region by Kress et al. (2003: 88), but we have not seen material from this area.

Distribution:— Bangladesh, northeastern India, southern Myanmar, Thailand, Indochina and western Malesia.
