Specimens examined:— SHAN. Kengtung District : 1370 m, Jul 1909, MacGregor?681 ( E) . TANINTHARYI. Dawei District : 700 m, Aug 1961, Keenan et al. 758 ( A, E, RAF) ; same loc., 640 m, Aug 1961, Keenan et al. 905 ( A, E, K, RAF p.p.) ; same loc., 305 m, Aug 1961, Keenan et al. 933 ( A p.p., E, K p.p., RAF) .

Distribution:— India, Myanmar, Thailand and southwestern China.

Notes:— Liparis diphyllos Nimmo is not the basionym of this species and is clearly a species of Liparis . Habenaria diphylla is variable in spur length.

Habenaria ditricha Hook. f., Fl. Brit. India 6: 151, 1890. Type:— MYANMAR. Mon State: Mawlamyine District , 1846, Lobb 350 (holotype: K; isotypes: BM, K-LINDL, LE)

Heterotypic synonym: Habenaria javanica Kraenzl., Bot. Jahrb. Syst. 16: 162, 1892. Type:—‘JAVA’ ( Myanmar). Lobb 350 (holotype: LE) .

Specimens examined:— KACHIN. Putao District : 450 m, 5 Oct 2016, Armstrong et al. 1649 ( NY, SING), ident. uncertain . MON. Mawlamyine District : type ; same loc., Lobb s.n. ( K). WITHOUT LOCALITY. Type .

Distribution:— Endemic.

Notes:— Armstrong et al. 1649 agrees with the type in most characters but differs in being taller with a longer inflorescence, bracts shorter than the ovary and falcately linear-lorate petals (lanceolate in the type).
